All Saints’ Day

As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Galatians 4:6

One day this will be your feast day! Today is a day to rejoice and also to dream. As Christians, our dreams can never measure up to the reality of what God desires for us. Yet our dreams can help us to see that no matter how wonderful our dreams are, they will be just a tiny drop beside the fountain of blessings that our Father intends to give us.

St. John says that we are children of God. Now this is something that should amaze us. How is it that we who are part of creation and sinners can be children of the Creator and Source of all things? Would you choose to adopt an ant especially if that ant was disobedient? How mysterious the love of God is!

Then St. John goes on to say that in Heaven we will actually be like God. How could we be like God? If you could have one of the attributes of God, what would it be? It would be tough to choose just one. But we won’t have to choose because somehow everything our Father has will be ours.

Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15
