Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Praise God in his holy place, praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his powerful deeds, praise his surpassing greatness. O praise him with sound of trumpet, praise him with lute and harp. Praise him with timbrel and dance, praise him with strings and pipes. O praise him with resounding cymbals, praise him with clashing of cymbals. Let everything that lives and that breathes give praise to the Lord.
Reading: 2 Timothy 2:8, 11-13
Remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, was raised from the dead. You can depend on this: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; If we hold out to the end we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he will still remain faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
Open our hearts to your voice. Lord hear our prayer! May we never turn away from the path you have shown us. Lord hear our prayer! Strengthen your Church under the leadership of Francis, our pope. Lord hear our prayer!
Dear Jesus, May we always be ready to serve you. Give us a spirit of trust that we may always stay close to you. We ask the Father for this in your name in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
