Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm 130:5-8
My soul is waiting for the Lord, I count on his word. My soul is longing for the Lord more than watchman count on daybreak. Let the watchman count on daybreak and Israel on the Lord. Because with the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption, Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.
Reading: Jeremiah 31:15-17
In Ramah is heard the sound of mouring, of bitter weeping! Rachel mourns for her children, she refuses to be consoled because her children are no more. Cease your cries of mourning, wipe the tears from your eyes. The sorrow you have shown shall have its reward. There is hope for your future says the Lord. Your children will return to their own land.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
