Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
O sing a new song to the Lord, sing to the Lord, all the earth. O sing to the Lord, bless his name. Proclaim his help day by day, tell among the nations his glory and his wonders among all the peoples. The Lord is great and worthy of praise, to be feared above all gods; the gods of the heathens are naught. It was the Lord who made the heavens, his are majesty and state and power and splendor in his holy place. Give the Lord, you families of peoples, give the Lord glory and power, give the Lord the glory of his name. Bring an offering and enter his courts, worship the Lord in his temple. O earth, tremble before him. Proclaim to the nations: “God is king.” The world he made firm in its place; he will judge the peoples in fairness. Let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad, let the sea and all within it thunder praise, let the land and all it bears rejoice, all the trees of the wood shout for joy at the presence of the Lord for he comes, he comes to rule the earth. With justice he will rule the world, he will judge the peoples with his truth.
Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:20-22
Christ is now raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. Death came through a man; hence the resurrection of the dead comes through a man also. Just as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will come to life again.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
Jesus has given us life through his resurrection. Let us ask him: Bless and sanctify your people, Risen Lord, hear our prayer! Grant the joy of your Resurrection to those who have no hope, Risen Lord, hear our prayer! May the dead see your face, Risen Lord, hear our prayer!
Dear Jesus, Watch over your Church. Give us your gifts of peace and joy. We ask this in your name who live and reign with the Father in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
