JANUARY 11TH
Leader: O Lord, open my lips. Response: And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm 131
The leader and congregation alternate verses of the psalm.
Antiphon: Be still and rest in the Lord, my soul.
O Lord, my heart is not proud
nor haughty my eyes.
I have not gone after things too great
nor marvels beyond me.
Truly I have set my soul
in silence and peace.
As a child has rest in its mother’s arms,
even so my soul.
O Israel, hope in the Lord
both now and for ever.
Glory to the Father...
Antiphon: Be still and rest in the Lord, my soul.
Reading: 2 Peter 1:10-11
Be solicitous to make your call and election permanent, brothers; surely those who do so will never be lost. On the contrary, your entry into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for.
Antiphon for the Canticle of Zechariah: Give us knowledge of salvation, Lord and forgive us our sins.
Antiphon for the Canticle of Mary: May my soul rejoice in the Lord.
Pray either the Canticle of Zechariah (in the morning) or the Canticle of Mary (in the evening). You can find them here.
Intercessions
Fill our hearts with love. Lord hear our prayer! Make our hearts ready to hear your voice. Lord hear our prayer! May the dead rejoice at the heavenly banquet. Lord hear our prayer!
Dear Jesus, Fill our hearts with faith, hope, and charity. May we always be found ready to follow you in all you desire. We ask the Father for this in your name in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Closing: May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
