Jesus is existence. When he says “I am”, he is saying that he is the source of all that is. Without him, we truly have nothing.

Jesus is the heir. Everything the Father has belongs to the heir. But he has decided to share it all with us.

Jesus is our ransom. He truly served us by his life, death and Resurrection. He freed us from our sins and brought us back into friendship with our Father.

Jesus is the one who humbles himself. Have you ever considered how much he humbled himself? He became a man, he was counted as a sinner, he suffered a cruel death and all in order to beg his sinful creatures to love him so that they would be happy.

Jesus is not only the door (March 2nd), he is also the Kingdom that we are entering. And how do we enter? Not by relying on our self-righteousness but by allowing him to transform our whole life into holiness.

Jesus is the door. Jesus gives us access to the Father. We have confidence to ask, see and knock because this door is always open to us.

At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
Jesus is the Wisdom of God. The Wisdom of God is different than worldly wisdom. It is a generous outpouring of love on the undeserving. If this seems like foolishness to us, we are in danger of failing to see the sign that Jesus gives: the sign of his own life of self-sacrificing service on behalf of sinners.
