Jesus is the Kingdom. He is a shelter for all of us and he will raise us up to be with him forever.

“Woman, you are set free of your infirmity.”

Jesus is our liberator. He frees us from all that is harmful to us including, if we let him, our hard hearts.

“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Mt 22:34-40

Jesus is the one to love. We love him by loving God and by loving our neighbor who is his beloved dwelling.

“When day came, he called his disciples to himself”

Jesus is the one to approach. But we can’t come to him just by physical nearness. We must have our hearts turned to him in faith, hope, and love.

“You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time?”

Jesus is the Sign for all times. He is the sign of love, forgiveness, mercy, peace, and unity. Will you recognize this sign?

Jesus is a source of division but only because of our sinfulness. When love comes into the world and the people prefer hate this causes there to be all types of fighting and evil.

Jesus is the one we are waiting for. We should be eagerly awaiting him and trying to have everything ready that we know will please him.

“Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival.”

Lk 12:35-38

Jesus is one who serves. He serves us in every moment of our lives and he wants to reward us for every small service that we give him in return.

“Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God.”

Lk 12:13-21

Jesus is our only treasure. If you have him in the storehouse of your heart, your are rich in what matters to God.

“Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”

Mt 22:15-21

Jesus is the one to whom we belong. We have his image and inscription written on our souls so we should give him everything.

“I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God.”

Jesus is just. But his justice is much greater than human justice. He can truly see all things and take everything into account. He gives us every opportunity to proclaim him with our lives.

Jesus is the true leaven. His words are truth and light and his presence in the world lifts us up and raises us to Heaven.

Jesus is the desire of our hearts. He is the only one who can give us what we need to be fully human. Without him, we begin to turn away from doing good.

Jesus is our peace. Are you ready to receive him into your home?

“But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.”

Jesus is the one who purifies you. He wants you to be entirely clean and free from all evil. So he gives you the power to give alms that is, to be merciful.

Jesus is greater than everyone and everything because he is God our Savior. And the sign he gives us is greater than any other sign because it is his death on the cross and his resurrection.

Jesus is the King’s Son. We are invited to come to the great eternal celebration of his love for us. Why would we choose to do anything else?

Jesus is the Word of God. By looking at his life, death, and resurrection we will know how to put his words into practice. Then we will be blessed.

“But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on which he relied and distributes the spoils.”

Lk 11:15-26

Jesus is the strongest person. He can overcome every evil power and yet he doesn’t use his strength for himself but for the good of those he loves.

“How much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

Lk 11:5-13

Jesus is the Second Person of the Trinity. He has a deep knowledge of the Father and of the Holy Spirit because of their relationship and he wants to share with us his knowledge of his Father’s generosity and of the goodness of the Holy Spirit.

“Give us each day our daily bread”

Jesus is our daily bread. He is the one who is with us day after day to give us our strength and all that we need.

“Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.”

Jesus is our Guest. He comes into our homes and our hearts. How do we treat him? Like an honored guest? Like a fiend that we want to stay with us forever? Or like a person that we want to leave as soon as possible?

“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Lk 10:25-37

Jesus is the Good Samaritan. He is moved by compassion at the sight of our suffering. He draws near to us and heals our wounds. Then he lifts us up by paying for us with his blood so that we can enter a place of rest and safety.

“Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.”

Mt 21:33-43

Jesus is the Son of the Landowner. God made and owns the whole world. He sent his Son into this world to receive the good fruit of our lives. What will we give Jesus?

“All things have been handed over to me by my Father.”

Lk 10:17-24

Jesus is the One who knows the Father. Because he has perfect knowledge of the Father, he has perfect love of the Father. He wants to share the knowledge and love with us.

“Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me.”

Lk 10:13-16

Jesus is the one who is sent. He is sent to guide us to Heaven so we must receive him and listen to him.

Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.

Lk 10:1-12

Jesus is the Lamb of God. When he came peacefully among us the wolves, we killed him. We need to be transformed into lambs and ready to give our lives for the Gospel.

Jesus is the only Way. There is no other way to live than the way he lived totally dedicated to following the will of his Father.

Jesus is humble. He is not concerned with making sure that everyone knows how important he is. He is concerned with fulfilling his mission for our salvation.

“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.”

Mt 18:1-5, 10

Jesus is a Child. He came into the world as a child and he left the world as a child fully trusting in the goodness of his Father.

Jesus is calling us to conversion. He wants us to know that no matter where we are in life, we can always change our minds and decide to do what is right.
