Leader: O Lord, open my lips. All: And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Cry out with joy to the Lord all the Earth, serve the Lord with gladness.

Psalm 77:17-21

The waters saw you, O God,
the waters saw you and trembled;
the depths were moved with terror.
The clouds poured down rain,
the skies sent forth their voice;
your arrows flashed to and fro.

Your thunder rolled round the sky,
your flashes lighted up the world.
The earth was moved and trembled
when your way led through the sea,
your path through the mighty waters
and no one saw your footprints.

You guided your people like a flock
by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Reading: 1 Peter 5:5b-7

In your relations with one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because God “is stern with the arrogant but to the humble he shows kindness.” Bow humbly under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time he may lift you high. Cast all your cares on him because he cares for you.
Pray either the Canticle of Zechariah or the Canticle of Mary. You can find them here.
Antiphon for the Canticle of Zechariah: Let us serve the Lord in holiness all the days of our life.
Antiphon for the Canticle of Mary: Do great things for us, O Lord, for you are mighty, and holy is your name.

Intercessions

May we value the things of Heaven above all else.
Lord hear us!
May those who do not know you find the truth.
Lord hear us!
Pour your grace into our hearts.
Lord hear us!
Dear Jesus,
May we always strive to find the Kingdom of Heaven. We ask the Father for this in your name in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
