Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm 90:14-17
In the morning, fill us with your love; we shall exult and rejoice all our days. Give us joy to balance our affliction for the years when we knew misfortune. Show forth your work to your servants; let your glory shine on their children. Let the favor of the Lord be upon us: give success to the work of our hands, give success to the work of our hands.
Reading: Wisdom 15:1, 3
You, our God are good and true, slow to anger, and governing all with mercy. To know you well is complete justice, and to know your might is the root of immortality.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
Intercessions
Watch over those who serve your Church. Look on us with favor Lord! Heal our world wounded by war. Look on us with favor Lord! Forgive us for the times we have turned against you. Look on us with favor Lord!
Dear Father, May we work today for your glory and for the good of those we meet. We ask this through Jesus your Son in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
