October 25, 2021 Daily Prayer

Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.

O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.

Psalm 31:2-7

In you, O Lord, I take refuge.
Let me never be put to shame.
In your justice, set me free,
hear me and speedily rescue me.

Be a rock of refuge for me,
a mighty stronghold to save me,
for you are my rock, my stronghold.
For your name's sake, lead me and guide me.

Release me from the snares they have hidden
for you are my refuge, Lord.
Into your hands I commend my spirit.
It is you who will redeem me, Lord.

Reading: From a Letter to the Corinthians by St. Clement

The Father is merciful in all he does and full of generosity; he is loving to those who fear him. In goodness and gentleness, he gives his graces to those who approach him with undivided hearts. We must then put away all duplicity and not be distrusting in the face of his excelling and ennobling gifts.

The Canticle of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

Dear Father,
Guide our thought, words, and actions so that we may be your true sons and daughters. We ask this in the name of Jesus who lives with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
