October 8 2022 Daily Prayer

Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.

O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.

Psalm 117

O praise the Lord, all you nations,
acclaim him, all you peoples!

Strong is his love for us;
he is faithful for ever.

Reading: 1 Timothy 6:11-13

Seek after integrity, piety, faith, love, steadfastness, and a gentle spirit. Fight the good fight of faith. Take firm hold on the everlasting life to which you were called when, in the presence of many witnesses, you made your noble profession of faith.

The Canticle of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

May we keep your word in our hearts.
Lord, hear us!
Help us to be your true disciples.
Lord, hear us!
Inspire us with the good things you want us to do today.
Lord, hear us!
Dear Jesus,
Direct our minds and hearts that we may do what is pleasing to you. We ask the Father for this in your name in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
