December 15, 2021 Daily Prayer

Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.

O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.

Psalm 86:1-6

Turn your ear, O Lord, and give answer
for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am faithful:
save the servant who trusts in you.

You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
for I cry to you all the day long.
Give joy to your servant, O Lord,
for to you I lift up my soul.

O Lord, you are good and forgiving,
full of love to all who call.
Give heed, O Lord, to my prayer
and attend to the sound of my voice.

Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:5

Stop passing judgement before the time of the Lord's return. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and manifest the intentions of hearts. At that time, everyone will receive their praise from God.

The Canticle of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

Intercessions

Bring justice to the poor and the oppressed.
Come, Lord Jesus!
Turn hatred into love.
Come, Lord Jesus!
Gather us into one fold.
Come, Lord Jesus!
Heavenly Father,
Help us to be ready to receive Christ when he comes in glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus who lives with you and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.
