Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm 119:25-32
My soul lies in the dust; by your word revive me. I declared my ways and you answered: teach me your statutes. Make me grasp the way of your precepts and I will muse on your wonders. My soul pines away with grief; by your word raise me up. Keep me from the way of error and teach me your law. I have chosen the way of truth with your decrees before me. I bind myself to do your will; Lord, do not disappoint me. I will run the way of your commands; you give freedom to my heart.
Reading: From a treatise on faith addressed to Peter by St. Fulgentius of Ruspe
Christ is the one who in himself alone embodied all that he knew to be necessary to achieve our redemption. He is at once priest and sacrifice, God and temple. He is the priest through whom we have been reconciled, the sacrifice by which we have been reconciled, the temple in which we have been reconciled, the God with whom we have been reconciled. He alone is priest, sacrifice and temple because he is all these things as God in the form of a servant; but he is not alone as God, for he is this with the Father and the Holy Spirit in the form of God.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
