Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.

O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.

Reading: Acts 10:40-43

God raised up Jesus on the third day and granted that he be seen, not by all, but only by such witnesses as had been chosen beforehand by God——by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commissioned us to preach to the people and to bear witness that he is the one set apart by God as judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets testify, saying that everyone who believes in him has forgiveness of sins through his name.

The Canticle of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

Intercessions

Today our Savior rose from the dead. Let us ask him:
Send your Spirit into our hearts that we may proclaim your Resurrection,
Risen Lord, hear our prayer!
Destroy in us the power of death,
Risen Lord, hear our prayer!
Raise up the dead to be like you in glory,
Risen Lord, hear our prayer!
Dear Jesus,
May your victory over death bring us hope. As we remember your Resurrection, may we be filled with joy at your victory. Amen.
