Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
Psalm 61:1-6
O God, hear my cry! Listen to my prayer! From the end of the earth I call: my heart is faint. On a rock too high for me to reach set me on high, O you who have been my refuge, my tower against the foe. Let me dwell in your tent for ever and hide in the shelter of your wings. For you, O God, hear my prayer, grant me the heritage of those who fear you.
Reading: 1 John 3:21-24
Beloved, if our consciences have nothing to charge us with, we can be sure that God is with us and that we will receive at his hands whatever we ask. Why? Because we are keeping his commandments and doing what is pleasing in his sight. His commandment is this: we are to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and are to love one another as he commanded us. Those who keep his commandments remain in him and he in them. And this is how we know that he remains in us: from the Spirit that he gave us.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
Intercessions
Watch over your Church. Intercede for us, Lord! May we listen to your voice. Intercede for us, Lord! Dispel in our hearts the darkness of sin. Intercede for us, Lord!
Dear Jesus, Teach us how to fulfill your Father's will just as you did. We ask the Father for this in your name in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
