Every day, we will post a few brief prayers inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours.
O Lord, open my lips. And my mouth shall declare your praise.
But the love of the Lord is everlasting upon those who hold him in fear; his justice reaches out to children’s children when they keep his covenant in truth, when they keep his will in their mind. The Lord has set his sway in heaven and his kingdom is ruling over all. Give thanks to the Lord, all his angels, mighty in power, fulfilling his word, who heed the voice of his word. Give thanks to the Lord, all his hosts, his servants who do his will. Give thanks to the Lord, all his works, in every place where he rules. My soul, give thanks to the Lord!
Reading: Tobit 12:15, 18, 20
I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who enter and serve before the Glory of the Lord. As for me, when I came to you it was not out of any favor on my part, but because it was God's will. So continue to thank him every day; praise him with song. Now get up from the ground and praise God. Behold, I am about to ascend to him who sent me; write down all these things that have happened to you.
The Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
O Lord let your angels protect us. Angels of the Lord, praise the Lord! Let your angels guide us along our way. Angels of the Lord, praise the Lord! Let your angels defend us from all evil. Angels of the Lord, praise the Lord!
Father of All, We praise and thank you for all the wonders of your creation. We ask that your holy angels will guide us to our true home where we will praise you, your Son and the Holy Spirit forever. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.
