Jesus is a Friend of sinners. This is really good news for us because not only is he our friend but he has the power to take away our sins.

When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
Jesus is moved by our sorrow. When he looks upon our sorrow and grief, he feels pity for us and gives us the consolation of a Son restored to life.

When Jesus heard this he was amazed at him and, turning, said to the crowd following him, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
Jesus is moved by our faith. Our faith is a consolation to his heart because it shows our loving trust in him who wants to do all things for us.

Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan.
Jesus is both just and merciful. He is just. He knows how weak we are and how much we need his forgiveness. He is merciful. He reaches down to us and covers us with his blessing. Since we have received much more than we deserve, he is just in asking us to share his mercy with others.

“I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them.”
Jesus knows how to build secure houses. If we listen to him, we’ll know what we need to do in order to put his words into practice and have a safe shelter in him.

Jesus is Someone who is always close to us even when we suffer. He was close to his mother from her first sorrow until her last. But out of this sorrow came joy.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
Jesus is the only Son of God, the one who completely fulfills the will of his Father. But he does not grasp at this great position but wants to share it with us.

“Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours.”
Jesus is poor, hungry, weeping and persecuted for our sake. He wants us to walk the same path that he walked so that we will inherit the Kingdom where we will live in fulfillment, happiness and joy.

A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases.
Jesus is a person who draws all to himself. He draws us so that he can teach us and heal us. When we draw near to him, we are transformed.

Looking around at them all, he then said to him, “Stretch out your hand.”
Jesus is someone who sees. He looks around at all of us and he sees the depth of our needs and also our sins. He wants us to see that it is always the time to do good.

Jesus is our partner in prayer. When we are united to each other in prayer, then we are also united to Jesus who gives his blessing to our prayer.

Jesus is a questioner. Questions can be asked for many reasons: to find out information, to trap an innocent person, to show superiority or to learn the truth. But Jesus has a single purpose in all that he does. He asks questions so that we will change our hearts and live in his love.

Jesus comes through the Holy Spirit but he also comes through Mary. He comes from Heaven to save all those who live on the earth.

Jesus is the One to serve. We can spend our days serving ourselves, our projects, our desires. But this is not going to bring us healing, happiness or the love we long to have.

Jesus is astonishing. If we are not astonished by him, it is because we have stopped seeing, hearing and pondering. His teaching is with power and his words drive out evil.

Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecies. He is the Good News that we want to see spread through the world. And we can be a part of that Good News.

Jesus is a traveler. He traveled from Heaven to earth in order to bring us gifts. He then traveled from earth to Heaven. He expects us to use our gifts generously and wisely so that we can travel to where he is.

Jesus is the One that we are waiting for. We can’t get distracted and forget that we are preparing now so that we are ready to go and live with him forever.
